Wii: Experience a World of Fun and Nostoria
In its first week on the market, the Wii was showsered with rave reviews. Though Nintendo had hoped to keep the gaming community at bay with its intensely marketed, family-friendly gaming, with the Wii, the company was surprised to find gamers of all ages tuning into their console as soon as it was released.

The gaming console enjoyed a heady mix of performance, price, and novelty. By attracting families and non-gamers alike, it revived the flagging genre of the video game. Not only that, the Wii's design snuck in gamers onto the family menu without making any hardcore gamers happy. As a family exclusively, the Wii seemed more like an absence than a destination.

Now, two years and some odd months later, the Wii is, in every way, a familiar name to sight. The price has been lowered from $ointment to $199, and the revolution is still going strong. Though the Nintendo-know-it-all tries to call it "the new ninetendo console," the Wii is actually the seventh generation console from Nintendo, a console frowned upon by purist gamers. Still, the price is more palatable this year, and the Wii bar is hovering at a good price. True, the Wii Nunchuk controller might be the most awkward hardware ever, but two thumbs up for the Nunchuk's advanced motion sensing.

So far, Nintendo has been selling the Wii in waves, rather than a single, huge price tag. This strategy, more than any other, is working for the company. Wii wasn't hard to sell before, the price was Cut In Half. Now, it's being offered in three distinct price rings, all in the $199 range. Perhaps, Nintendo is trying to hint at the Wii's price range. And if you take Nintendo at its word on this, the price might be even lower than $199.

As for the controller itself, I'm totally impressed. gameloop 's unlike anything I've ever handled, whether it's a controller or remote or disk or controller or whatever. It's responsive and smooth, like a real gun or bow and arrow. And while it temporary may seem like an improvement, in the scheme of things, it's got a long way to go before I can say the Wii is actually all the heavy hitting, expressive, advanced gaming experience a Video Game needs and desires.

The Wii is fun. It really is. It get great reviews from everywhere. Your mileage may vary. My own personal opinion? If you already own a Nintendo Wii, you really don't need to buy this. If you don't, you owe it to yourself to at least check it out.
