My personal story isn't a an epic one... I was born, attended school, worked, fought until I finally got something done online.. But, it also includes some devastating moments where I thought that my life was over. One of these was when my computer at my house suddenly stopped functioning. After some fiddling, shifting my old desktop to the new one, and a bit more tinkering I was eventually able to restore the entire work on that drive. It took me 3 days of sweating and tears... Following that, I have learned one thing - to utilize Dropbox and personal ftp server to automatically and manually backup my work day to ensure it is impossible to be deleted.
This is definitely not the ideal option. The more information you store online is the higher the cost you'll have to pay for the data to be kept online. It's simple to use and seems very safe. It is also easily accessible and can be downloaded from any place with internet access. What happens if the internet isn't available? I'm grateful to always carry my laptop around in those instances. It's my only secure backup location. They are connected to form an RAID stack, so that they copy each other, and ensure that one copy is available in the event that one of the HDDs is damaged. Because I copy most of my stuff there, it's not often that the laptop works. I do not want two drives to be destroyed at the same time.
Another sad day was a few months back. I am very careful not to lose all my work, and as I stated in the previous paragraph, and now I copy it multiple times and can access it wherever internet is available. This was Periscope. I was using it a lot some time ago. Even during the last summer 2020 riots, I participated in some live streams. Periscope TV closed suddenly and all streams disappear in a matter of weeks. What do you do? I'm looking to download all videos and store them offline on my computer. They are extremely important to me, it's the last time I hung with my friend who disappeared from the radar during Covid It seems like it got him..
The site is one that I frequent. It lets me download videos from Youtube and Instagram and Facebook which are a few of the sites which I save the majority of my live streams. I am very involved in underground movements, politics and so I film often, save them, and post them on my Youtube channel. Then, every time the live stream is finished, it goes into my laptop. This is the way I do it. It allows me not only to share YouTube videos via Facebook but also to upload that video to Facebook. The uploaded video can become its own video. https://ydownloader.cc In reality, I have more than 3TB live feeds from the last 8 years. Periscope lives never cease to exist.. I find this site very useful.
It's a breeze. When I play a video I wish to download on Periscope, Youtube or Facebook or YouTube, then copy its URL through the share link. I then navigate to the site for video downloaders, paste the video link there, and in a matter of seconds I'll see a variety of options for downloading video. I can download it to my desktop or laptop, copy it across platforms, and preserve it for my friends and loved ones. Periscope may not be available on all sites. The site is able to manage the m3u8 file other websites download on behalf of you. I go to the video downloader site and copy my video's URL where they want it. Then, I press the large button. The video isn't downloaded to my computer, it's online and plays when player loads tiny fragments each time.
If you're not familiar with this, Windows can utilize the copy command to assist you join these fragments to create a normal one-long video file. It's due to MpegTS, the format for video, used to break the video into fragments. Also called transport stream. It is a complete set of data necessary for decoding video within each fragment. Every stream can be initiated from the middle without interruption. The browser also protects data by downloading 360 x 10 second files. It only downloads the streams that you are watching. The player will receive three to four fragments of the 25 second stretch and the 1-2 fragments that follow in case it continues to watch the stream. This greatly reduces the total amount of data needed to view the stream for 25 seconds. https://ydownloader.cc
