Speed (sometimes called Spit) is a matching game that is unique because both players play simultaneously and as fast as they can. Speed is a match-making game where players attempt to 'get rid' their cards by matching them up with cards placed face down on the table. This is a face-to face game, but there's very little interaction between the players. Speed's last moments remind me of a fast-forward version of solitaire. Cards and hands fly around, and rows form and drain like water pipes. Speed is a strange game.

It's known as a community card game for the reason that there are shared cards that are used by all players, when trying to make their best 5 card hand. Each player will receive two private cards, known as hole cards. These cards can only see the player to whom they are given. There will be five community cards or shared cards dealt throughout the game. These cards are dealt face up. Players will attempt to make the best five card hand possible using all 7 cards available to them (2 private and 5 shared). This same principle applies across all poker games.
