1. Introduction


Why is it that airlines seem to be the only companies who take their customers’ travel needs seriously?
The airline industry has a long history of customer service excellence, so it’s no wonder that they’ve become one of the most trusted brands in the world. But what happens when you have merely good customer service? When you have just good customer service, and not great?
There is little doubt that a company can be lucky in its products and services, and even luckier in its customer service. However, luck alone doesn’t guarantee the best customer service. To be truly great at customer service, companies must strive to do better than those who are simply good — to exceed. And for this to happen, companies must start by looking for ways to consistently deliver great customer service in every aspect of their business. That means:
1) Always delivering outstanding quality product or service;
2) Always delivering outstanding quality team member;
3) Always delivering outstanding quality customer; and
4) Always delivering outstanding quality environment (i.e., culture).


2. The Current State of the Industry


Spirit Airlines is the world’s largest low-cost carrier. Spirit offers flights from the U.S. to Mexico, Colombia, Jamaica, and Costa Rica, with daily service to the Bahamas and Cuba. In addition to its main hub at Philadelphia International Airport in Pennsylvania, Spirit operates a second hub at Piedmont Tri-County Airport in Greenville, South Carolina.



3. Analysis of Frontier and Spirit Airlines' Situation


The merger between two American Airlines airlines is an interesting story. It's about a merger between two companies that have very different business strategies and ideologies, but also very similar values. Both companies are in the business of offering low cost travel that is both convenient and affordable. The transaction between the two companies will not only change their respective businesses, but will also change the way they do business in general.
I think that this deal is the first time that when two large airlines merged they both decided to merge the same industry. This is one of those cases where an airline used to operate as an independent entity found itself under the umbrella of another airline. In this case it was Spirit Airlines who was acquired by American Airlines and now it's American Airlines' turn to acquire Spirit Airlines.


4. Is a Merger in the Best Interests of Consumers?


As the public became more aware of the excessive fees and restrictions imposed by airlines and hotels, they started demanding to be able to connect their smartphones with the internet. As a result, new technology has emerged that enable customers to book hotel rooms directly from their own mobile devices. This is called the Inter-Modal Mobile Application (IMA), which is a joint application created for both mobile and online booking.
The IMA service is currently in use by over 5 million hotel guests and will grow as more and more people are able to book directly from their phones.

5. Conclusion


In the United Kingdom, tens of thousands of people have taken to the streets in rallies and protests against the Government's handling of the Brexit vote. The day was dominated by a series of marches, including a rally and march in London's Trafalgar Square, which drew several hundred thousand people. People took part in a counter-rally on the same square in May 2016, and again on June 23, 2017.
