3. Spirit Airlines Baggage Rules

Here are the new rules:
1. All checked bags must be in your name.
2. All carry-on bags must be under 12" x 12" x 19".
3. You may not have 2 pieces of checked luggage when traveling nonstop between cities or towns of 1 hour or less in length plus 1 hour between any two points along your itinerary that are more than 30 minutes apart (e.g., San Francisco – Los Angeles). However, you may have 2 pieces of checked luggage when traveling between cities or towns of 1 hour or less in length plus 3 hours between any two points along your itinerary that are more than 30 minutes apart (e.g., Los Angeles – San Francisco).
4. You may not have 2 pieces of checked luggage when traveling nonstop between cities or towns that are also served by airports served by Southwest Airlines (i.e., Denver and Salt Lake City) if Southwest Airlines charges fees for each piece of checked luggage transported as part of this service (i.e., baggage fees). In addition, you cannot use this policy if your total bag weight is over 18 kg (35 lb.). In either case, each piece of baggage must weigh at least 15 pounds nor more than 40 pounds and must contain items prescribed by the airline for the specific service listed above; however, passengers needing larger/heavier/larger capacity items can still opt for these options at no additional cost if they request them in advance by calling customer service at 800-332-4444 or online at www.spiritairlineservicecenter.com .
