You are planning a long and faraway holiday? Before WiFi is unavailable, make sure you have enough digital material.
Here's a short story of my most recent trip to the Arctic by boat. It sounded great, National Geographic trip thru the ice, and back with polar bears and several other animals. There would be the ice where eyes can see snow, ice, and ice everywhere. Man-made machines would fight the elements to get through the frozen north. It was breathtaking, as if an epic fight against the weather, the north and the pole.

I was advised to bring along all the tech I could squeeze into my luggage. I did bring my laptop and added an enormous display screen to extend the space for work. As they said, the electricity was not a problem. What was to become an experiment - was somewhat unknown to me.. Two days into my 14-day trip I did not know of the fact that my Internet connection would cease to function and I would be gone for the next 10 day. When it did happen, I was simply stunned. No trip should, however difficult or remote, cause me to be cut off from my computer. In addition, I've got unfinished business to deal with in the coming week, but I also didn't prepare myself for the time of downtime.

It doesn't matter if are forced to go offline. Internet is available everywhere. If your internet connection isn't working, you can always go to a McDonald's near you to get the no-cost WiFi connection you're looking for. You could even take your laptop to Starbucks and set up a table at the counter and surf the Internet until you're done. The only restaurant or cafe that can aid you from north. It's a long way to the nearest generator that generates electricity. I'm unable to afford a Sat phone. It's too expensive, particularly for Internet access. But I will next time create a plethora of collection of audio and video before I head out into the dark without Internet. Last time , I only had 2 songs. The songs were downloaded back earlier in the day, so all I could listen to was three jazz songs and a song I didn’t know what it was called. That's all. 4 songs for two weeks of complete silence. If I had known this was the case, I would prepare. I would have loaded my computer with shows from television movies, as well as a lot of music videos. My most loved podcasts would be my soundtrack for day. It's very easy to download them, then convert into mp3 then save on my computer. After that, I could simply lie in my mattress and listen to the podcasts I love at home. It was supposed to be my golden hour, or two weeks of gold. However, it ended up being two weeks of gazing at the ceiling and running for passengers whenever a sound is heard within the hallways.

Both literally and metaphorically In both ways, the journey was empty. I've never been this bored. I was aware that the issue will eventually be due to the thick ice, so the boat was forced to turn around and be returned to the shores of civilization. That wasn't unexpected however, again, endless hours of idle time could have been spent watching podcasts, listening to videos on home fixing, and simply listening to music. Next time, I will convert YouTube videos into MP4 or mp3 on my laptop. y2mate com This way, I can carry my most loved tunes around with me and stream them through my laptop. There's no reason to feel down music is always uplifting your spirits. Remember that Netflix and Hulu apps let you download movies and shows to your computer to view offline. Also, these can be used on long trips to the Arctic. Don't let boredom get you down. Have fun!
