<p class="p__1">A real estate agent is a property professional who is a member of the National Association of Realtors (NAR), a professional association. NAR defines the term "realtor" as a federally signed up cumulative subscription mark that recognizes a property expert who belongs to the association and signs up for its code of principles. Professionals who hold the title of real estate agent include agents who work as property and industrial realty brokers, salespeople, property supervisors, appraisers, counselors, and other realty professionals. There are 1,396,575 real estate agents as of June 2020, which breaks down as 65% property representatives, 22% realty brokers, and 15% associate brokers.</p>

<p class="p__2">Realtors need to come from both a regional association or board and a state association. Real estate agents are anticipated to be specialists in their field and need to follow the NAR's code of ethics, which needs representatives to maintain particular duties to customers and clients, the general public, and other realtors. Among its many requirements, the code of principles says that realtors "will avoid exaggeration, misstatement, or concealment of pertinent realities relating to the home or the deal." The code also mentions that real estate agents "will be sincere and genuine in their genuine estate communications and shall present a real picture in their advertising, marketing and other representations." Moreover, real estate agents need to "pledge themselves to protect and promote the interests of their client" while treating all celebrations to the deal honestly.</p>
