He or she must also be capable of developing a culture and ensuring that employees understand the mission of the organization. The CEO has to motivate, inspire and motivate others in order to build support among his or her team members. When it comes to implementing strategies, the CEO must understand that some ideas are better heard than read. He or she needs to have solid groundwork and expertise in the relevant area to make good decisions about strategic priorities.
