Negril is 1 of my most favorite places in Jamaica. I still remember my days there during summer rest from college or university. Its laid back charm, almost endless white sands beach, horseback riding are merely some of the reasons I love this place. Negril is one of Jamaica's most stunning beach locations and motivating this is the popular Negril lighthouse.


The Negril Lighthouse Jamaica was created in 1894 from the French Company Bubbler & Bernard, on a fuel tank fourteen foot deep, which is kept brimming with water. This's keeping the Tower balanced and secured in the event of an earthquake. The Tower that is assembled inland, is cylindrical and has an elaborate light surrounded by a metal and glass protector on top of which is a wind wane.


Negril Lighthouse Jamaica is located at south Negril Point that is at the extreme western end of the island of Jamaica. It is about 3 miles south of the center of Negril proper, just a very short drive along Westend Road. It's open 9 am to sunset each day. This concrete beacon which is painted white, stands 66 feet above ground level and the light is elevated hundred legs above sea level. The Lighthouse has an automatic white light which in turn flashes every 2 seconds. The site is a common wedding photography attraction on the Negril region and thought to be the the highest structure in Negril.


Talk into the Superintendent whom you may persuade to take you for a tour inside. There are hundred three stairs that will take you to the top to get a bird's eye perspective. Standing tall at 100 feet. The lighthouse offers a sweeping point of view on the sea and countryside as they mix together, the Negril light source home yard is the best place for viewing the sun's heat setting behind the ocean. Most likely the reason it's Negril's most popular marriage videography and photography spot. Many Negril wedding memories have been captured on the lawn on the Negril Point lighthouse.

The Negril lighthouse Jamaica is a working, historical developing looked after by the Port Authority of Jamaica, an agency belonging to the Ministry of Transport and Works. Because the lighthouse is a mentioned developing, there are regulations laid down that need to be followed. Nevertheless these rules are not rigid enough to mar any party in Negril Jamaica.
