Planning a Tour in Negril? Stop in the Negril Lighthouse in Jamaica

Planning a Jamaica wedding ceremony or perhaps Jamaica Honeymoon? Why not consider Negril as a new wedding location or perhaps honeymoon location? Negril is one of my most favourite locations in Jamaica. I still remember my days there during summer rest from college. Its laid back charm, almost endless white sands beach, horseback riding are merely some of the reasons I love this place. Negril is one of Jamaica's most stunning beach locations and motivating this's the famous Negril lighthouse.


The Negril Lighthouse Jamaica was developed in 1894 by the French Company Bubbler & Bernard, on a gas tank 14 foot deep, which is kept loaded with water. This's to keep the Tower balanced and protected in the event of an earthquake. The Tower that is constructed inland, is cylindrical and has an intricate light surrounded by a metallic and glass protector on upper part of which is a wind-wane.

Negril Lighthouse Jamaica is located at south Negril Point which is at the extreme western conclusion around the island of Jamaica. It is aproximatelly 3 miles south of the middle of Negril proper, just a very short drive along Westend Road. It's open 9 am to sunset daily. This concrete beacon which is painted white, stands 66 feet above the light and ground level is elevated hundred feet above sea level. The Lighthouse has an instant white light which in turn flashes every 2 seconds. The website is a popular wedding photography attraction around the Negril region and thought to be the probably the highest structure in Negril.


Talk in the Superintendent who you may persuade to take you for a tour on the inside. You will find hundred three stairs that will take you to the top for a bird's eye viewpoint. The lighthouse offers a sweeping perspective of the ocean and countryside as they blend together, the Negril lamp house lawn is the perfect place for taking a look at the sun's heat setting behind the ocean.
