Semarang Attractions to not be missed

Based on history, Semarang was provided by the Sulltan on the Dutch East India Company, in 1708, VOC, from what time this town was made right into a Dutch enclave. Gedong Batu

Admiral Cheng Ho, or even otherwise known as Zheng He, was a significant historical figure in Indonesian heritage, particularly in the city of Semarang. A Muslim explorer originating from China, Ho played a critical part in introducing Chinese culture and traditions on the Indonesian community. The kid of Haji Ha Ma Zhi, Ho was the right hand man to third Chinese Emperor Yong Le from the Ming Dynasty.


Sam Poo Kong Temple Complex

Sam Poo Kong (also referred to as Gedong Batu Temple) could be the earliest Chinese temple in Simongan, Semarang. This magnificent temple was started by Chinese Muslim explorer, Admiral Zheng He (also known as Cheng Ho) in the 15th century and is used today as being a place of pilgrimage and worship by Indonesians of all the religious denominations. The first temple would have been a cave Zheng He found on 1 of his expeditions, but on account of an avalanche inside 1704, a new temple (which will be the present Sam Poo Kong) was resurrected within a cave alongside it.
