Kompas Gramedia Group (KG) is the biggest media conglomerate in Indonesia in terms of reach and coverage, fortified by a highly diverse group portfolio divided into 8 main pillars, with sample prominent portfolios as follows (selected only) KompasTV (Media), Gramedia Book Store (Retail and Publishing), Santika (Hospitality), Universitas Multimedia Nusantara (Education), Gramedia Printing (Manufacture), Dyandra Media Promosindo (Event and Venue), Medialand (Property), Gramedia Digital (Digital).
Digital era, with the addition of Covid-19 pandemic season, has truly forced all industries to adapt and change for the better. With the reason being, Kompas Gramedia has determined to focus on providing factors to enhance employees’ experiences, especially in the form of digital experience as during pandemic time, there has been a working culture shift where most back office employees are working from home now to maintain safety. Kompas Gramedia is determined to keep on improving its digital employee experience, not only to cater to the employees' needs, but also to upscale the employees' engagement, and eventually performance and loyalty to the company. However, it has been more than a year since Kompas Gramedia started the digital employee experience project, but the results were still below expectations. One of the main issue that the digital employee experience strategic team found after a thorough internal research within employees, it has been known that MyKG, the platform that is supposed to be a one-stop digital employee touch-point portal that caters to the majority of employee journeys, has not been fully adopted by all employees. The current adoption rate is still around 40% (7,900 out of around 20,000 employees as of March 2021). In the data-driven research held by Kompas Gramedia digital employee experience strategic team, in conclusion it is found that there are at least three main problems that are causing this adoption rate issue. The problems are the lack of comprehensive business processes that can form a compelling digital employee experience, the slow development of technology for the MyKG platform, and the need of internal marketing and product change management. When we entered the New (Better) Normal condition, this digital employee platform was urgently needed because currently most of our employees work from home. The successful implementation of the digital employee platform will provide a solid foundation for us to prepare for the future of work, but it is not the only requirement.
PR: In order to achieve our expectation in digital employee experience, we have several projects, one of them is PR & Branding Development Program. As a part of internal marketing, this project aims to evaluate KG branding through customer loyalty surveys, increase community engagement with KG through activation on social media (Instagram Kompas Gramedia), increase external publicity for KG and BU KG brands through media releases, media relations, media or company visits, and increase cross-BU collaboration in KG through a variety of collaborative activities at the corporate level.
Copywriter: In order to achieve our expectation in digital employee experience, we have several projects, one of them is Employee Engagement Content Development. As a part of internal marketing, this project aims to evaluate the effectiveness of the MyKG.id channel as the sole communication portal for KG employees through internal surveys, develop MyKG.id content as a single integrated communication portal for KG employees to attract more active users, enhance MyKG.id content especially in terms of writing articles and photo news, enrich and prepare materials for the editorial staff of MyKG.id, develop and manage internal communication channels by utilizing communication media through WhatsApp blast, Email blast, sound building with effective narrative, manage the PPKG website, and manage content or narrative to maximize employee engagement through social media (MyKG Official Instagram Account).

Era digital, dengan tambahan musim pandemi Covid-19, benar-benar memaksa semua industri untuk beradaptasi dan berubah menjadi lebih baik. Karena itu, Kompas Gramedia bertekad untuk fokus memberikan faktor-faktor untuk meningkatkan pengalaman karyawan, terutama dalam bentuk pengalaman digital karena selama masa pandemi, telah terjadi pergeseran budaya kerja di mana sebagian besar karyawan back office sekarang bekerja dari rumah ke menjaga keamanan. Kompas Gramedia bertekad untuk terus meningkatkan pengalaman digital karyawan, tidak hanya untuk memenuhi kebutuhan karyawan, tetapi juga untuk meningkatkan keterlibatan karyawan, dan pada akhirnya kinerja dan loyalitas kepada perusahaan. Namun, sudah lebih dari setahun sejak Kompas Gramedia memulai proyek digital employee experience, namun hasilnya masih di bawah ekspektasi. Salah satu masalah utama yang ditemukan oleh tim strategis pengalaman karyawan digital setelah penelitian internal menyeluruh di dalam karyawan, diketahui bahwa MyKG, platform yang seharusnya menjadi portal titik sentuh karyawan digital satu atap yang melayani mayoritas perjalanan karyawan, belum sepenuhnya diadopsi oleh semua karyawan. Tingkat adopsi saat ini masih sekitar 40% (7.900 dari sekitar 20.000 karyawan per Maret 2021). Dalam penelitian data-driven yang dilakukan oleh tim strategis pengalaman karyawan digital Kompas Gramedia, disimpulkan bahwa setidaknya ada tiga masalah utama yang menyebabkan masalah tingkat adopsi ini. Masalahnya adalah kurangnya proses bisnis yang komprehensif yang dapat membentuk pengalaman karyawan digital yang menarik, perkembangan teknologi yang lambat untuk platform MyKG, dan kebutuhan pemasaran internal dan manajemen perubahan produk. Saat kita memasuki kondisi New (Lebih Baik) Normal, platform digital employee ini sangat dibutuhkan karena saat ini sebagian besar karyawan kita bekerja dari rumah. Keberhasilan implementasi platform karyawan digital akan memberikan landasan yang kokoh bagi kami untuk mempersiapkan masa depan pekerjaan, tetapi itu bukan satu-satunya persyaratan.
