Why you need to go to Vancouver Island NOW

Travelling from the cheaper mainland of BC on the magnificent Vancouver Island, travellers have a lot of options on the best way to get there, depending of course on the place they wish to get when they land on the Island. I have sailed on BC Ferries from Tsawassan Terminal to Swartz Bay, as I wanted to check out the Capital City of Victoria and last week, I sailed from Horseshoe Bay over to Duke Point in Nanaimo as that has been my chosen destination for that specific journey. On both occasions I've to say that I found the Ferries being great value. They're all very comfortable, nicely equipped and basically have something for every person to pass their time during the 2 hour trip.


For those who want to get there faster or perhaps perhaps are a little more affluent, you can choose from a selection of small float planes which fly continually back and forth to different destinations on the Island. For a bit more cash, you can even decide to fly by helicopter if that is what makes you tick. For me, the notion associated with a short sea voyage in itself offers a thrill not to mention, a few subdued thoughts of the renowned Titanic on its fateful maiden voyage. Honestly, we have advanced considerably in technology since those times and BC Ferries are a good example of today's maritime engineering. En-route for your Island by ferry, there are many sights to see and many pictures well worth taking with the digital camera of yours. For any lucky travellers, it is apparently a normal occurrence to see a school of Whales as they take a trip down between the Gulf Islands and the Georgia Straight on their way to far off places. Furthermore, based on what time of day you decide to go, you can savour the opportunity to discover several of the most marvellous and awe inspiring sunsets you're likely to find anywhere. Usually, I try to time my return trip back to the mainland to coincide along with the sunset time frame and this way, I can capture a new range of photos and endless shades of colour with the camera of mine.

In case you're in no great rush to get to Vancouver Island , subsequently for the buck of mine the ferries are definitely the route to take. From the second to arrive at what actually Terminal you decide to depart from, they're really well organized and almost regimental in all they do to make your journey less stressful. Their staff is extremely helpful and helpful and they will guide you and your car right on to the ship, showing you were to park and how to find your way returned there later.
