I am applying for this course because I have had an interest in Chemistry ever since we started triple science in GCSE's. Specifically, my dream job is to work as a nuclear engineer in a power plant, and so I believe chemical engineering is the best course to choose for me.
This subject interests me because I always find myself daydreaming about energy. If there were a way for me to contribute to a source of it (ie through a nuclear power plant) then that would be a way for me to change the world, to give back for all the good it has blessed me with. I understand that engineering courses are among the hardest and generally require the most studying, but I believe that since my brain is well-suited for maths, it is hence suited for understanding.
I have worked as a chef's assistant for a few weeks now and it has made me able to work in a hectic environment. It has also especially helped me realise how to manage my time; if I am ever seen not doing something or helping anybody, then I am essentially told to get to work.
My current studies were chosen because I like a challenge; this is still very true, hence why I decided to follow through with Further Maths as my 4th A-Level instead of keeping it as an AS-Level. Also, the subjects I chose seemed right for me, as I had an interest in all of them.
I have spent hours researching and looking into the future of nuclear energy and I suppose it is a dream of mine to be a member of the team who launch the first operational fusion power plant.
