SariAgri - Program Food Estate Sumatera Selatan mulai dilaksanakan. Pemerintah Provinsi atau Pemprov telah menggelar Kick off Food Estate pada Jumat (28/5/2021).
Kick Off Food Estate berlangsung di Desa Pegayut Kecamatan Pemulutan kabupaten Ogan Ilir, Sumatera Selatan dengan dihadiri Menteri Pertanian (Mentan) Syahrul Yasin Limpo.
Berita Nasional Dalam sambutannya, Mentan Syahrul mengajak elemen pemerintah daerah, termasuk kelompok tani guna berkomitmen melaksanakan food estate sebagai semangat petani bela negeri. Hasil Pertanian Indonesia Food Estate ditargetkan akan mampu menembus pasar ekspor dan menekan impor pangan di Indonesia.
Menurut Mentan, baru pada tahun ini, terutama menghadapi lebaran, gejolak harga hingga berujung impor masih bisa dikendalikan. Dalam sejarah 20 tahun terakhir, impor bisa ditekan terutama dalam menghadapi lebaran kemarin, seperti pada komoditas bawang putih hingga daging.

"Kita harus komit dan yakin, Food Estate mampu menggerakkan sektor ekonomi paling dasar di desa. Setelah desa bergerak, kecamatan maju, provinsi juga bagus, hingga pangan Indonesia tetap terjaga. Bisalah, kita gertak-gertak dikit untuk tidak impor," ujarnya di hadapan para kepala daerah dan unsur muspida Sumsel.
Sementara itu Gubernur Sumatera Selatan, H Herman Deru mengatakan Sumatera Selatan tercatat sebagai enam provinsi penyangga pangan Indonesia, dan harus dipertahanan secara serius.
Berita Hari Ini "Saat produksi pangan Sumsel meningkat dan surplus ekspor ke provinsi lain. Termasuk program food estate untuk lima daerah di Sumsel ini adalah kerja Ordinary, butuh keseriusan kerja keras tak hanya bagi Sumsel namun menjadi penopang pangan bagi 273 juta Penduduk indonesia," ujar Herman Deru.
Turut hadir dalam kegiatan tersebut Bupati Ogan Ilir Panca Wijaya, Bupati OKUT, OKUS, Banyuasin, Dan Wabup OKI Djkafar Sodiq.
