Lisbon (Lisboa) is a renowned city with over twenty centuries of history. The capital of Portugal since the Moorish conquest of 1147, it's extremely likable & lively, boasting an array of activities strenuous one's undivided attention... well, at the very least for the earliest few days. As our organization of friends recently determined for ourselves, there is a lot more to Portugal once you satiate yourself with Lisboa's flavor. In fact, there's very much to enjoy in this fairly tiny country, that we had to argue about that of our favorite destinations to include in the list below.

And so, in case you end up bored in Lisbon with a few days left on your holiday, you will want to make the most of the holiday of yours, rent a vehicle and also hit the road? We offer the following itineraries--each within 1 day of round trip driving from Lisboa.

Day trip 1: Porto Do not stop on the way, for there is plenty to see in Porto--Lisboa's rival community. Snap images around the Cathedral area, try the incredible sushi and ceviche in the riverside quarter of Ribeira, browse the marketplace of Bolho, store at the Baixa (down-town). And, of course, be sure to stop by the Port Wine Museum (and after that use some of the namesake).
