A few months later they were happy to go ahead with the purchase, and at that point Les and Pauline didn't even need a solicitor. In fact, they made up the majority of the selling team. By keeping them informed of every little change, they were able to get in touch with the buyer when necessary. This helped to speed up the sale and to minimize the time spent on selling the flat. The best thing about working with the Kensington and Chelsea property team was that they always matched people up with potential buyers in the most compatible areas. They also had an excellent customer service record. One area where they really helped with matching people was in the fields of flats and houses for families. In particular, the Kensington office concentrated its efforts on helping families in St Kilda who were looking for a place to live after being displaced by the bad economic conditions in Glasgow. This group of families had originally gone to Glasgow as job seekers but were then made redundant and had to find somewhere to live.


From this group, a number of families were made available apartments by the Kensington Estate agency office. All the homes in this refurbished building were bought by people who could not afford to buy their own home. It is these flats which are the lucky ones in the St Kilda area.
