Slide 1: What is communication?
Effective communication is a key skill for everybody. We communicate every day, and we need to be able to communicate effectively, especially in the work place.
By being an effective communicator you improve your relationships with people and improve your work life.

Slide 2: Learn to listen – When you are listening you need to be doing just that, and not thinking of other things such as what to say next as this can clutter your mind and take your concentration off the speaker’s words. Careful listening also helps you to pick up on how the words are being said, and non-verbal messages alongside. Not only does it benefit you, but the speaker will appreciate your listening skills.
Slide 3: Thinking about what you are about to say - Try to avoid saying the first thing that comes into your head, because this could be received negatively by the other person. By thinking about what you are about to say you will avoid misunderstanding which will make yourself seem more intelligent and mature.
Slide 4: Keeping stress levels to a minimum – When you enter a stressful situation you will often find it difficult to think straight, which means your communication skills will take a large hit. If you find yourself in a stressful situation try to keep a clam frame of mind to prevent your communication skills from suffering too much. By doing this you will be seen as a more confident and able person.
