My name is Jean-Michelle P. Salenga, and I am shooting for my Associates Degree in Bookkeeping. Before I can fully delve into why I am going for my Associates Degree in Bookkeeping, there is some background to cover. For starters, I am the eldest daughter of the family, my parents were Michael Salenga and Peachie Salenga, who both resided in the United States of America. Born and raised in California, I was naturally one who enjoyed her time in California, even though my parents still missed their home in the Philippines. However, after a considerable amount of time, they divorced and remarried into new families. As of now I have 5 (three being half siblings), and I do my best to take care of each. Despite my extended family, I always make time to invest myself into my education. Learning has always been in my interest, and continues to be. From the moment I set my eyes on Honors and Advanced Placement classes, I've been applying myself to whatever seems to be within my interest. AP English to delve into the psychological aspect of novels, and AP Calculus to put myself to the test in the course of math. While both have been especially difficult, I've found myself struggling. However, with struggles, comes success. With the extensive learning I've put myself through, I've passed through my high school years with 4.0 GPA and passed my AP exams. While my learning capabilities seem to go on, I also excel in the skills of art. After winning second place in a Stanislaus Art Show for my Black and White Portrait drawing, I was awarded twenty dollars for my efforts. Eventually, said drawing was purchased by a Stanislaus county man, who wanted to display the art of county's students, for one hundred dollars. Throughout the years of my high school, Patterson High, I've found myself successful in my studies and even been awarded one hundred dollars by the school for my student ranking being within the top ten. I consider myself a hardworking student, and have felt I've proven myself this with the amount of time I put into my studying.

As I said previously, I was planning to major in Bookkeeping. To the average man, Bookkeeping may seem like a tedious job that seems far too silent and back stiffening for any worker who may be more skilled with their hands. The average definition of Bookkeeping is the ability of recording financial transactions. As any person would, they would immediately think "why would an artist want to invest their time in Bookkeeping rather than into Art?" I've asked myself that question many times, and the answer always remains the same. Art is a hobby of mine and personally, a way to reduce stress. So, I concluded that I would rather do another thing I am best at. Typing and inputting information. From my adolescent ages, I've been fascinated with computers and typing is generally a good feeling, even if it is just simply numbers.
