Sven Taddicken's corsair comedy “Twelve Meters Without a Head” is not a simple parody of the curse of the Caribbean films, but reveals a very unique approach to the genre. What if Klaus Störtebeker and Gödeke Michels had swapped places because the daredevil Störtebeker suddenly mutated into a cowardly coward as a result of a near-death experience? The answer to this question is amusing, gripping and yet has a small flaw: Because the production lacked the money for even more deep-sea brawls, the second half lacks a bit of the necessary noise.
