진안군이 후원하고 부귀농협이 주최·주관한 이번 축제는 지난 12일부터 3일 동안 온·오프라인에서 동시 진행됐다.

김 책임연구원은 “5종의 효모들의 전체 유전자에서 독성을 띠는 물질을 만드는 유전자는 확인되지 않았다”며 “골마지가 생긴 김치가 건강에 큰 문제는 없지만 추가 동물 실험이 필요하다고 말했다.





연구진은 골마지를 예방하기 위해선 김치를 포장할 때 모든 부분을 국물에 잠기게 하거나 산소와 접촉면이 생기지 않도록 비닐로 감싸야 한다고 설명했다. 또 약 4도의 저온이 유지되도록 냉장고를 관리해야 한다고 덧붙였다. 김 책임연구원은 “혹시 모를 위험을 피하려면 골마지가 생긴 김치는 그 부분을 걷어낸 다음, 볶거나 끓여먹는 방식으로 김치를 조리해 먹는 것이 안전하다고 덧붙였다.


이 자리에선 최근 일부 국가의 김치 종주국 억지 주장과 비위생적 절임배추 영상 등으로 촉발된 국민들의 관심에 부응해 순수 우리 농산물로 안전하고 위생적으로 만든 농협 김치의 우수성을 널리 홍보하고, 김치사업을 활성화하는 방안을 논의했다.


참석자들은 농협 김치사업의 경쟁력 강화를 위해 △농협 김치 가공공장 통합 △시설 현대화를 통한 제조원가 절감 △브랜드 단일화 및 통합 마케팅 실시 등 다양한 방안에 대해 의견을 나눴다.


이 회장은 “최근 국산 김치에 대해 높아진 국민적 관심에 부응하고, 우리 전통식품의 위상을 높이기 위해 김치공장을 통합해 가격과 품질 경쟁력을 제고하는 방안을 모색하고 있다라며 “앞으로도 농협은 국민들이 안심하고 섭취할 수 있는 고품질 국산 김치를 생산하고 공급하는데 앞장서겠다라고 말했다.
