배추 소비는 위축된 반면 알타리무·무 등 대체 품목들은 소비가 다소 늘며 값도 반등한 상태다. 식당 등에서 열무김치·무채 등 배추김치 를 대체할 밑반찬을 선호하고 있어서다.


3월 중순 6000원대까지 떨어졌던 가락시장의 무 20㎏ 상품 한상자당 평균 경락값은 29일 8399원을 기록하며 오름세를 보였다. 열무 가격도 1.5㎏ 한단당 1978원으로 3월 중순 1600원대보다 소폭 올랐다.


수원과 성남에서 해장국집을 운영하는 김모씨(34)는 “기존에는 배추김치와 깍두기만 제공했는데, 최근엔 배추김치를 안 먹는 손님을 위해 무채를 추가했다”며 “날이 따뜻해지면 열무김치도 추가할 계획”이라고 말했다.


김진구 대아청과 영업3팀장은 “김치공장을 중심으로 알타리무와 열무 등의 수요가 늘었고 앞으로도 배추를 대용할 만한 품목의 소비가 활발해질 것”이라고 전망했다.
