How to whitelist a website
Just like blacklisting tells which IP addresses should not access your website, a whitelist gives access to the preferred ones. Whitelisting lets the firewall security system permit access to the user-approved domains to get connected to your site.
It is something that you will need to do time and again since new sites are coming online every minute, some of which you may want to connect with while filtering off the others which are either malicious or irrelevant.
So, here’s the step-by-step guide on how you can whitelist a website on Google chrome, Cloudflare and GoDaddy:
How to Whitelist a website on Chrome?
• Open Google Chrome
• Click on the “More” button > Click on “Settings”
• Go to “Advanced” at the bottom.
• Click on “Content settings” > “Notifications”
• Turn Off ‘Ask before sending.’
• On clicking “Save”, a chrome extension will be added to your domain.
OR
• Authorize a site: below Block, click the "More" icon "Authorize" or "Block" the site you want, then click "Authorize".
• Add to "Block" or "Allow", type the URL of the site and press the "Add" button for more URLs.
How to Whitelist a website on Cloudflare?
• Log in to your Cloudflare account.
• Click the Firewall icon > Click on the Tools tab > IP Access Rules.
• Enter the IP address you want to authorize.
• Choose “Whitelist” as the action.
• Choose your website.
• Click “add.”
Repeat the procedure for all IP addresses you want to add.
How to Whitelist a website on GoDaddy?
• Go to your GoDaddy product page.
• Look for “Website Security and Backups”.
• Tap on “Manage”.
• In the menu bar, select “Firewall.”
• Open Access Control
• Click on “Whitelist IP Addresses” to allow access.
• In the address text box, type the IP address you want to whitelist and you can also select for how long you want the IP address to be on the whitelist.
• For a single domain, select Settings > Access Control.
• For multiple domains, select gear icon > select domains > select “Access Control” > Select “Apply Changes to All Domains”.
