What is an Activist?

What is an Activist? An Activist is someone who takes action to change something, whether it is for political, social, economic or religious reasons. Activists are individuals who believe and work towards changing something - anything and everything.

Some might argue that by calling ourselves "activists" we are being disingenuous in our actions because we really don't feel like we're making a difference in the world; so what is an activist anyway? Many people might agree that they're an activist on many different levels, as they feel that they have a strong sense of purpose, a clear vision of what they want to achieve, or at least a goal in mind that they want to achieve. This is in fact what makes an activist so different from an ordinary person: an ordinary person might have a general idea about what he or she wants but an activist believes their cause is so important, that they will do almost anything to get it done, including participating in extreme acts of violence to achieve it. And we know what happens when people use violence - they end up dead.

There are many different types of activism and everyone have a slightly unique take on what it means to be an activist. For example, some would classify themselves as social justice advocates, believing that all individuals live in an interconnected world. Other people would consider themselves as eco-terrorists, believing that there are too many wasteful industries, poverty and disease in the world today. There are also environmentalists who would advocate for animal rights, or animal liberation. And some would even say that they are all about freedom and liberty and would go beyond just participating in protests to truly work towards a better world for everyone.

Now then, how can you differentiate yourself from all these other types of activists? Well, firstly you need to understand that all these activists have a common goal: that is to make a better world for everyone. However, each will target a different company or organization to affect change. An animal rights activist may choose to target Whole Foods or McDonald's to make their point about how animals are treated in factory farms. There are hundreds of other companies to target according to what type of change you would like to see.

Therefore, how do you differentiate yourself from the thousands of other activists out there? One way to differentiate yourself is to invest in only the most profitable, stable public companies. Some of the most profitable and stable companies right now are Microsoft, Scottrade, State Street, Fidelity, Schwab, Blue chip companies, etc. Now some may say that I am missing the point and that shareholder activism and other types of activism do not directly help the economy, but they certainly help investors.

Activist investing is primarily made up of teju adisa-farrar funds. Teju daba-barra funds are high return bonds which are predominantly invested in tequila, Mexico, India, and small cap stocks. As agency can see, I am simply promoting investing in companies that are already doing very well. Activist investing is basically stock market investing without taking on the emotional attachment to individual stocks. It is a high reward low risk investment vehicle.

Activist investors don't want to admit to themselves or others that they are investing in the wrong companies. That would cause some serious complications with their funding, so most investors prefer to have a professional investor that has direct investing experience tell them what to invest in. If you are looking for an ideal investment vehicle then I recommend that you seek out institutional investors. institutional investors typically control a large portion of the overall share capital in the stock market.

Activist groups do not provide this type of self-care or social network. What is the difference? Activists need a platform where they can voice their opinions and generate support from like minded individuals without the fear of retribution or blowback from powerful corporations. They need a safe haven to discuss their ideas and allow others to benefit from their work. The best way for activists to do this is through social media sites such as Facebook and twitter.
