As a business analyst, on which stakeholders should you focus when confirming elicitation results? Give your reasons.

Ans 1:-As Business Analyst all stakeholders are important and should be focused on.

Every stakeholder has roles and responsibilities to play, and each stakeholder's information contribute to the overall success of the project. It's the duty of Business Analyst to collaborate with all the stakeholders to elicit information that are relevant and useable. This information will have to align with the overall objectives of the project. As Business Analyst, information from any stakeholder is important as along is relevant and will achieve the expected objectives.

Focusing on one stakeholder will not be ideal as the correctness and validity of results other stakeholders are equally important. An example is a housing project. The stakeholders right from the owner of the house, the electrician, plumber, carpenter all have the role they play, which must be done correctly for the house to be completed and comfortable. Imagine leaving out the plumber, it means water aspect of the house will be having problems.

It's important to focus on all stakeholders as it provides holistic view and achieving the set goals of the project.

Ans 2:- To confirm elicitation results, I always focus on a sponsor who has the authority for approval. It is common some elicitation information may be conflicted. No matter what requirement is provided by the end-users or customers, the final decision to make the project continue is the sponsor.

For example, I worked on a project for students to register their placement preferences. Students, the end-users, are not willing to fill in some basic information that can be obtained after login in with their student accounts. Due to limited resources and time constraints, the sponsor did not agree to integrate with another system for such information. The sponsor made the final decision.
