How would you rate stakeholder engagement in your current or past organization, within the range of 1 to 10, with 1 being the least and 10 the highest? Explain your rating with examples and concepts learned in the course.

Ans 1: I would rate the stakeholder engagement in my past organization on a 9 out of 10. This is because they were fully engaged and participated in the entire project from start to finish. The project in question was to design a product paper that was meant for owners of institutions in the country’s capital who were finding it difficult to access the needed funds to acquire certificates of occupancy for their landed properties that they had to develop. The cost of getting the certificates was very high and as such using the funds they had would result in the reduction of their liquidity which will in effect affect their operations. We then had several meetings with the representatives of the owners of institutions to design a product that met their needs and also proved profitable for the bank. This upon approval led to the birth of a mutually beneficial product that helped in increasing the wallet share of the bank’s business in the education sub-sector. The concept learned was how communication can be used for problem-solving in an organization.

Ans 2: I will rate stakeholders' engagement in my previous organization as 5 that is 50% as engagement were not fully done using the concept from a business analysis perspective

In my professional career as a Banker in one of Nigerians leading Banks, I have come to realize that the engagement done in launching in the mobile banking App was not properly executed. The reason being that in the concepts of Stakeholder Analysis, Stakeholder Collaboration, and Stakeholder Communication.

In preparing the App not all stakeholders were identified, the staff members who were meant to be the users and implementors of the app were not involved. Roles and responsibilities were also not clearly defined. The few stakeholders that they identified did not collaborate effectively as they worked separately without input from the other stakeholders. The communication aspect was also faulty as the team did not consider the audience, frequency, delivery method, and formality. There was little or no information to work with.
