SariAgri - Dirjen Peternakan dan Kesehatan Hewan (PKH) Kementerian Pertanian (Kementan) Nasrullah menegaskan masuknya daging ayam impor dari Brasil yang hanya tinggal menunggu waktu bukan keinginan pemerintah, melainkan negara pengirim.
"Produksi malah over dan tidak pernah pemerintah memiliki wacana untuk impor. Brasil yang mau bukan Indonesia yang minta," ujarnya melalui pesan singkat kepada SariAgri.id, Senin (3/5/2021).

Untuk diketahui, serbuan daging ayam impor asal Brasil tinggal menunggu waktu menyusul kekalahan Indonesia dalam sengketa dagang di World Trade Organization (WTO). Kalau pun saat ini importasi daging ayam Brasil masih tertunda, itu karena Indonesia masih mengupayakan banding.
"Soal itu (antisipasi daging ayam impor dari Brasil) urusannya di Kemendag (Kementerian Perdagangan) karena terkait sama WTO," kata Nasrullah.
Dia menekankan saat ini produksi ayam dalam negeri sangat melimpah sehingga Kementan berupaya melakukan pembatasan.
"(Produksi ayam dalam negeri) aman banget, malah kita kurangi produksi agar tidak terlalu over," kata Nasrullah.
Nasrullah menambahkan kenaikan harga ayam selama bulan ramadan menjadi wewenang Kemendag. Menurut dia, Kementan hanya memiliki wewenang di hulu atau produksi bukan hilir.
