Erzhan Kazykhanov's Return Will Not Ease Kazakhstan Unrest
Kazakhstan Unrest won't be alleviated by Erzhan Kazakhstanykhanov s Return to the Country As Deputy Chief of Staff

After a string of protests in Kazakhstan, the government must accept an entirely new reality.

Erzhan Kazykhanov's return demonstrates the power dynamics that have changed.

The world arena must change to accommodate an increasingly assertive and active citizenry. In addition, policymakers need to be aware of the changes to find effective methods to interact with the nation.

Ukraine's Role in Kazakhstan's shift
The past few weeks have been filled with focus on Ukraine. It's because Russian President Vladimir Putin was preparing for and launching an invasion of a massive scale against nations that are sovereign. This shouldn't come as a surprise given the fact that NATO leaders, including the Biden, the President of NATO Biden, ignored the warnings of Moscow. Russian President Putin has repeatedly opposed NATO's attempts to invade Russian territory.

Although Putin's actions have been criticized however, the leaders of the west must admit that they were responsible for creating the crisis. Now we have to deal in the aftermath of the European crisis that could have easily have been prevented.

Protests in Kazakhstan
The current state of affairs in Ukraine must be compared with the events of recent times in the region. Color revolutions from 2003 to 2005 are mentioned along with protests in Belarus and particularly Kazakhstan. As the former Soviet nation located in central Asia, it rarely sees street protests that openly express its discontent.

Protests over rising prices for gas and the lack of employment started in Kazakhstan in the first week of this year. These protests spiraled into nationwide demonstrations that were and violent protests. Almaty was the city that suffered the worst loss of life, with 227 killed and 9900 being detained. Russian troops from the Collective Security Treaty Organization CSTO were briefly deployed.

Restructure Kazakhstan's Government, Erzhan Kazykhanov Return
Qasym Zhomart the president of Kazakhstan has brought about numerous modifications to the power structures of the ruling elite that have caused concern about the status quo, apprehensions, and discontent in the majority of Kazakhs.

Particularly, protesters have been outraged by President Tokayev's move to assume the office of the head of the government's National Security Council, replacing the previous president Nursultan Nazarbayev whose influence over the economy of the country was an issue of concern for protesters.

The incidents led to three son-in law of former President Nazarbayev being removed from their positions and dismissed from state-owned enterprises. Karim Masimov, the former spy chief , was arrested on treason convictions. A number of members of the business elite who had ties with former President Nazarbayev were also defrocked from state enterprises, fired, and many others fled to Europe for "extended vacations." They also received large "donations."

Reform isn't always feasible when there are changes to the government or removal of old guards. It is not uncommon for those who served in the previous administration to be replaced with equally ineffective relatives and loyalists.

Erzhan Kasykhanov's appointment is Unsatisfying
The selection of Erzhan Kazykhanov in the powerful position of Deputy Chief Of Staff by the president Tokayev is counterproductive. Kazakh Kazykhanov was Kazakhstan's ambassador to the United States, who was most ineffective to the United States, was Kazakh Kazykhanov.

Washington considered Kazykhanov as an arrogant diplomat who was confident and indifferent to think about the image of his country. His performance on national issues, such as restrictions on Jackson-Vanick as well as other issues related to Kazakhstan's image abroad, is not without fault.

Because of his unremarkable and problematic reputation, Kazykhanov makes a difficult candidate for critical post. Kazykhanov is not highly skilled in diplomacy, vast expertise or ability as Deputy Chiefs Of Staff.

Even Kazakhstan's most ardent supporters are not happy with Kazykhanov's frequent appearance on major international news networks which expose his weaknesses. Tokayev's decision in this crucial time to hire an incompetent and self-promoting deputy to a weak unstable, unstable government doesn't make sense.

Tokayev’s Kazakhstan reforms recall Mikhail Gorbachev’s Perestroika in the Soviet Union and Glasnost. Perestroika (of Mikhail Gorbachev) is a mid-1980s-era program that reformed Soviet economics. Glasnost refers back to his reforms to the policy. These reforms led to the demise of the Soviet Union. Putin is trying for a rebirth. Tokeyev is also a fervent advocate of Putin's economic relations with countries surrounding his own country. Kazykhanov could upset this delicate balance.

In Unsteady Times The United States Should Pay Close Attention To Kazakhstan
In the midst of the conflict in Ukraine, Washington should be aware of the events in Kazakhstan because they are a glimpse of how a power succession can play out in this region of the world - either way.

The invading of Ukraine by Russian forces is a troubling incident, and it's vital that the United States and its allies take appropriate action to counter Putin's aggressiveness. But, NATO has been inciting Russia for many years. The current crisis is in large part due to their incompetence.

Washington should pay particular focus on the events in Kazakhstan. It may be the next flashpoint of the war between Russia, the West and Russia.
