We found that 24-25 players is the best number for starting your season. We mix and match until we have that number now on about every team we field. On click here , I usually lose 1 player before the season starts, they decide that football is not for them. As the season progresses, we usually lose 1 player per match due to injuries, sicknesses, grades, etc. For practices and games, we typically have between 22-24 kids available. To me this is the perfect number, 22 kids means I have 11 on 11 in our fit and freeze drills during football practice. If there are 22 players on the team we can run our football games against a scout defence of 11.

Attend FBS (D1A), FCS / D1-AA, DII and DIII football games at schools in your region to get a better picture of where you are talent-wise. This will allow you to see the level of competition at each level firsthand and make a more accurate assessment.
