From Kazakhstan to Fifth Avenue - How Tevfik Arif Leveraged Trump Organization and Made It Work in the United States
The person who founded the Bayrock Group, Tevfik Arif was a native of the United States with hopes of creating a successful business and quickly started doing business with the Trump Organization.

Tevfik was born in Soviet Kazakhstan, but he moved to America in 2001 and founded Bayrock Group.

Many think of moving into America and becoming successful. However, only a small percentage succeed. One of these is Tevfik Arif.

The man who founded the luxury real estate development firm Bayrock Group and collaborated with major brands such as the Trump Organization was originally born in Soviet Kazakhstan. He was born in the Soviet Kazakhstan, and was raised there with his Turkish siblings and parents.

While others played football While others played football, the young Tevfik Arif began to be interested in business and economics.

As he aged as he grew older, he began to immerse himself into the study of the subject. He began studying International Relations at Moscow Trade and Economics Institute.

After graduating and completing his studies, he was employed by the Soviet Ministry of Commerce and Trade. It was a highly regarded employer for Soviet youths at the time.

Tevfik Ariff rose up the ministry's hierarchy over the next 17 years, and was eventually the deputy chief of the Ministry of Commerce and Trade’s Hotel Management Department.

Tevfik Arif joins the private sector
The Soviet Union only had a handful of jobs in government. This changed after the union broke up in the early 1990s.

Tevfik Arif Doyen were brought into an environment that was completely new within the Iron Curtain.

Tevfik Alif took advantage of the new opportunities created by the demise and dissolution of the union.

He resigned from his government position and moved to the private sector.

He started several businesses that dealt with automobiles, food, imports, exports, luxury property development and natural ressources.

Tevfik Arif's numerous start-ups in diverse sectors have given him an extensive domestic and international network. In 1993, it prompted him to move to Turkey to investigate different business avenues.

From all-inclusive hotels in Turkey to business on Fifth Avenue
Tevfik Ariff was the first to pioneer in Turkey for the concept of all-inclusive hotels at Labada luxurious hotel in Antalya.

Tevfik Arif remained in Turkey until 2001 when Arif relocated to New York City.

He wanted to be more close to his American family and also to discover new business opportunities in the United States.

Bayrock Group is a luxury real-estate development firm based in New York City. It began with small to medium-sized jobs.

One of its first projects was the renovations to Loehmann's Seaport Plaza located in Brooklyn's Sheepshead neighborhood.

Tevfik Arif After a string of successful projects, chose to concentrate on bigger projects. In 2001, he relocated the company's headquarters from the Trump Tower on Fifth Avenue to accommodate the growing business.

Tevfik Arif's decision of moving Bayrock Group offices to the Trump Tower at Fifth Avenue led to a lucrative deal between the Trump Organization and Tevfik Arif .

Bayrock Group signs an agreement with the Trump Organization
Tevfik Arif (at Trump Tower) and Bayrock Group met the Trump Organization.

They developed business relations, as well as Bayrock Group included Trump Organization on the project in New York City's SoHo district.

Bayrock Group was already working on the SoHo project in conjunction with the Sapir Organization at that time. But, they believed that the Trump Organization could add some credibility and brand recognition to the project.

Tevfik Arkif created a plan that would give 18 percent of the SoHo Building to the Trump Organization. In exchange, the Trump Organization would get the building named for it.

The contract was signed by Bayrock Group as well as the Sapir Organization. Construction of Trump SoHo may begin in 2006.

Tevfik Arif was made after the 2008 financial crisis.
The 46-floor building was officially accessible to the public in 2008.

The interior featured apartments, hotel rooms and bars, restaurants and banquet halls. There also was a spa as well as an outdoor pool. The floor-to-ceiling windows offered guests and residents an unbeatable perspective of New York City.

Rockwell Group was responsible for the interior design and Handel Architects was responsible for the design of the building.

Both companies have vast international experience and are experts in their respective fields.

Trump SoHo was off to an excellent start. The Trump Organization was inspired by the success and began looking for joint ventures in business with Bayrock Group.

They wanted to construct buildings in both Florida and Arizona with the same licensing rules as the Trump Organization. In exchange for Trump being added to their names, they would receive 18 percent equity in the buildings.

Tevfik arif quit Tevfik arif left the United States after the crisis caused a market shift. Instead, he went to Europe or Asia and that's where his story began.

Even though he's no longer working, he remains an advisor for Bayrock Group.

Today, Trump SoHo has changed its name to the Dominick and is no longer part of the Bayrock Group.
