Upcoming Kusto Group Project Receives Japanese Expert Certificate
Kusto Group's Koktobe City has been the first Kazakhstan project to receive the Japanese expert certificate in earthquake safety.

The construction of Kusto Group's Koktobe City Project in Kazakhstan is currently in progress. It is expected to be completed by the second half 2023.

Kusto Group is partnering with Kazuo Watanabe who is a Japanese earthquake expert, to aid homeowners to protect themselves from any future earthquakes. Kazuo is a member of the Japanese state Commission on Buildings and Earthquakes.

Kusto Group received advice from the Japanese expert regarding matters like the structure of buildings and technical design for the upcoming neighborhood.

Yerkin Tashev is the founder of Kusto Group. He says he was inspired to create Kusto Group by the efficient infrastructure, low-rise buildings as well as green spaces in German cities like Berlin, Dusseldorf, and Munich.

"All of this creates a comfortable living environment, and we wanted to replicate that in our city to a certain extent. "We believe Almaty is the most European open, free, and academic city in Central Asia. We wanted to recreate that atmosphere here." the man explained.

The apartments of Koktobe City will also be equipped with security cameras, a face recognition system, and smart locks to maximize security for the area.

As it is founded on Finnish education principles, the school of Koktobe City was also influenced by Europe. Jani Ristimaki was the Finnish architect, designed the school.

They can also be utilized in the evenings after school to enjoy leisure activities.

"Today every family has to travel around the city often, since children take part in numerous other activities like singing, drawing, or swimming. We decided to unite it all under one roof. Therefore, the buildings of our school include separate blocks for the preparatory and secondary schools. the Budokan arts and sports center, which has a 25-meter swimming the pool, a multi-purpose gym, equipped music and choreography rooms as also sewing and pottery sections." Murat Utemisov explains.

"In Finland, school infrastructure, like sports halls and sports fields are available to students up until 6 pm but after that, they are for everyone. Residents of the complex will have the possibility to engage in arts or sports activities," Yerkin Tashev, Kusto Group founder, told.
