Das GEsetz nimmt Unternehmen in die Pflicht, Verantwortung für die Menschen und die Umwelt entlang ihren Lieferketten zu übernehmen.
DAs Gesetz ist das Ergebnis von jahrelangen Bemühungen, verbindliche Regelungen zu etablieren
Die Erfahrung der letzten Jahre hat gezeigt, dass die freiwillige Selbstverpflichtung von Unternehmen noch nicht die gewünschte Wirkung entfaltet hat. Eine Erhebung der Bundesregierung zu Umsetzungsstand des Nationalen Aktionsplan Wirtschaft und Menschenrechte (NAP) kam zu dem Ergebnis, dass 2020 weniger als 20% der Unternehmen in Deutschland den Vorgaben der unternehmerischen Sorgfaltspflicht gerecht wurden. Deshalb wurde mit dem LksG jetzt eine verbindlicher Handlungsrahmen verabschiedet, an dem sich Unternhemen
Die Bundesregierung hat in den Jahren 2018 bis 2020 in einem Monitoring überprüft, inwieweit deutsche Unternehmen ihrer Sorgfaltspflicht nachkommen, wie sie im Nationalen Aktionsplan Wirtschaft und Menschenrechte (NAP) verankert ist.
