The Game of Fan Tan
Fan Tan is a well-known solitaire card game, where players attempt to be the first person to empty their hand of cards. The four sevens are always the only ones that can ever be used initially; the 7 & 8 are only played once, after the seventh suit is used then the 6 and 8 can only be played, and so on. After all playing cards have been played The winner is the one who has the most cards after everyone else has folded. The game is often referred to as a simplified variant of solitaire. It doesn't come with the challenge of dealing with the alternating rows of playing cards, and you don't have the stress of hitting the correct button on the keyboard to bring up the Ace of Coins. It's a nice change from playing it all by yourself.

Fan Tan was born in China. As is evident by the original spelling of 'fantian', which literally means "eight cards". But, it could be translated as'seven cards in a row'. In certain variations of the game, sevens are represented as coins. Later the game was changed to the numbers seven and eight in different variations. They still had their original significance and were not considered coins. The modern Fan Tan allows each player to be dealt nine cards. They then can place their faces anywhere in the playing area , unless there are sevens. The nine remaining cards are dealt to players. They then take turns looking at each card and choose to call, raise or fold. If a player remains in their box for three consecutive calls, they are declared the winner.

Fan Tan's source of origin is unclear. However, the majority of players play it exactly like the standard version with one exception. The nine cards that make up the variation of Fan Tan aren't identified by numbers and laid out in the same way as the normal version. The difference is that at end of the session players are awarded points according to their performance. In the standard version, the points are added up at the end of the session to ensure that the final score is the total of scores for that session. In the variant, however each player earns points for each hand they manage to win, in addition to bonus points for matches.

Like any other legal game of chance, it is important to keep in mind that in Fan Tan the luck factor plays a large part in determining the outcome of the game. It is difficult to predict what will happen in the standard version. In this variant players have a level of control over the sequence. An excellent example is seen in the jackpot rounds in which the sequence may help a player win or cost them the winnings, based on the cards dealt. There is also the possibility of the possibility of a match-up between two players where one may win more than the other.

At the beginning of the game, it is common for players to draw seven cards face-down and the first dealer usually chooses. Seven cards are placed face down on the table. Each player can then place his hand on the highest of the cards. The blind draw is next, and the player must pick up the cards and not look at them. First, the dealer draws the first card. then the third, second and forth until the final card has been drawn. The dealer then will reveal the initial card, followed by the second, third, and fourth cards.

The session ends with the reveal of the fan and the unveiling of the top card. In the Texas Hold'em variation, the Fan Tan is playing with seven suits, namely: clubs, diamonds, hearts spades, hearts, diamonds, and clubs. A player who does not have the same shape of cards in each of their seven suits may choose to swap their card and change their hand. It is essential to keep in mind that the Fan Tan is still considered a no-limit game even if the maximum number of players has been reached.

The Texas Hold'em version of the Fan Tan uses nine pockets as does the no-limit version. This variation requires players draw from the flop's central pocket. If there are more than three players the game is over. Otherwise, another round begins.

Like the no-limit game, when sevens are dealt and dealt, the Fan Tan is playing with sevens, which also include ace queens, jacks and queens as well as tens, nines and kings. This variation allows players to trade up to 10 if they have a strong hand. Also, players should remember that sevens don't have to be straight lines. In this scenario, the Ace of Clubs could be transformed into an Ace of Wands. Straight flushes add one to the value of the hand however, a full house could reduce that value.
