Demon Slayer:Kimetsu no Yaiba. The Social phenomenon.

Wanted to put a single thread collecting every record demon slayer broke. this will include both Manga & Movie along with some trivia.

**Please be aware that this is not a full list**. a lot of records might not be in here as well as Trivia. there has been an immense amount of them so a lot of them simply might not have been noticed/recorded by people outside of japan. Especially trivia like the one below.

**Edit: i have put four new trivia below it'll be bolded as new. Otherwise there is no other update as im busy and have lost interest in tracking anime industry/financial stuff (As well as no longer watch/read much new things nowadays if at all). There was a ton more after i have originally written ( and a ton i didn't include before already) this but won't be including them,So for anyone interested Google will be your best option afterwards. It may be updated in extremely rare conditions but may likely never will.**

#Trivia/Other records:

Due to lack of stock there has been a lot of scalping and counterfeit manga. ([Picture](https://i.redd.it/o5wkdcz4rfj61.jpg))

Kimetsu no yaiba is one of the highest sold manga per volume at 6.5M+ per volume (Japan Numbers only)* for comparison Naruto is 3.47M (Worldwide included,Japan only is 2M) One Piece is at 4.9M (WW+Jap) Japan only at 4.04M. Dragon ball circulation number has high uncertainty (explained below) but if it was at 300M then its at 7.14M (WW+Jap) Japan only at 3.809M+

*There's only two that could be higher,Dragon ball and Devilman. Dragon ball circulation has a lot of uncertainty (it ranges from 260M to 350M to over 400M if included the bootleg copies) Devilman although at 10M per volume hasn't published the WW/JP distribution. It is very likely that Kimetsu is third or second. and these are Japan's only numbers and in few years compared to the decades others had.

The manga was also the second in oricon history to break the 100M circulation, as well the fastest to do it on a short amount of time (4 years and 7 months) ([Source](https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2021-01-25/print-market-in-japan-decreases-only-1-percent-in-2020-partly-due-to-demon-slayer-boom/.168786))

It made the print market for manga and digital sales hit highs and growth never seen since records began in 1978 ([source](https://www.asahi.com/ajw/articles/14282699)) The manga has also helped lead to a consecutive two year increase in book sales across the board, including sales of novels & magazines. #Demon Slayer: Mugen Train - Record of Slayed Records List (All credits go to [Corpse](http://www.worldofkj.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=2288618#p2288618) @ Worldofkj) Last updated as of October 15, 2021

**Note that if it achieved a new record in anything, and then did it again by beating the previous record not held by itself a second time (or more), I've noted all of them with Second Biggest/Highest, Third Biggest/Highest, etc. Because it rebroke some previous records not held by itself more than once, and took until week four of its release before it even fell to the previous record levels before itself.**

There are many records that it broke, and then broke again (and again), or had other days that broke the original records OR had other days that broke its own record. When you see Biggest, Second Biggest, Third Biggest and so on, that means it holds the record for Biggest X Record, along with the Second, Third, etc. place positions behind that.

It's only ranking behind ITSELF and above everything else in these instances.

I listed one example yesterday, but another example is that it broke the Biggest Single-Day Record (twice, once over the original record and then beat itself), and went on to acquire the Biggest 7 Single-Days behind that to hold the entire Top 8 of the Biggest Single-Days ever.

And here we go! 190 strong (at least) when including records it broke more than once, or ranked only behind itself, breaking the previous film records.

A massive list of records, and there's of course going to be other records it broke or set that aren't as trackable. The film completely decimated the record books. You could say it IS the record book now.

Stated this many times during its run, and while Japan is a "never say never" market, SO many of these are likely to hold for a really, REALLY, long time, if not forever, unless the population crisis gets under control in the coming decades.

This also excludes Weekly Records. And it holds A LOT of them.

I may add them in the future, but it's a good bit of work outside of the obvious or likely ones in its first 3/4 months and some later ones in its 7th-9th months. I'm thinking something like 15 or more Weekly Records. Of its first 12 weeks, I think it holds 9 or 10 of them. And then it holds many later in its run throughout its mid-20ths to early-30th weekends. And it holds the biggest 41st weekly record, too, and is the only known film to rank inside the Top 10 in its 41st weekend of release.

**ALL-TIME RECORDS:**

- Highest-Grossing Film Ever [¥40,326,120,350 ($385.3 million)]

- Highest Screen Count (1,400+)
