Bending Borders
The globalization of contemporary society is bending the world's borders. Economic and cultural fusions are creating transnational spaces, making political and physical borders less relevant to people's lives. The border is a constructed barrier, imposed on the natural environment, subject to political and social pressures. This dynamic has spawned new power centres in marginal landscapes. These borders no longer draw a clear and definitive line.

This exhibition is an opportunity to explore the human dimension of migration and interdependence, focusing on issues related to immigration and borders. The event will present short films by local filmmakers and a discussion panel featuring Ignacio Sanchez Prado and Richard Reitsma. Other participants on the panel include Abigail Cooke, professor of geography at Canisius College, Irene Rekhviashvili, attorney at Justice for Migrant Families, Alyss Erazo, and Monica Wrobel, Canisius College/"Latinitas" Project, and Secil Ertorer, associate professor of Sociology at Canisius.

The event's opening and closing events focus on the issue of border crossing and the resulting tensions. In the past, such situations have prompted governments to increase border controls, but these measures only reverse a long-term trend towards open borders that promote transnational dialogue. Whether we want to be more secure or less protected, we should not forget the positive effect open borders can have on our lives. In addition to facilitating peaceful interactions, Bending the Boundaries also teaches us how to think critically.

In a nutshell, Bending Borders explores the concept of borders. It seeks to address the societal and personal prejudgments that we all have, regardless of our social or cultural backgrounds. By examining our own attitudes and those of others, we can develop self-awareness and discussion skills. In this way, we can better understand our own cultural and racial boundaries and move towards greater tolerance and acceptance.

The film festival concludes with a program of contemporary Mexican films. In addition to screenings, the festival hosts a discussion panel that includes the filmmakers, Ignacio Sanchez Prado, and Richard Reitsma. Other speakers on the panel include Abigail Cooke, a professor of geography at Canisius College, Irene Rekhviashvili, and Alyss Erazo, who work for organizations fighting border violence.

A number of topics are addressed during the festival, and the event is free to attend. Some of the most prominent issues include immigration. Some of the most important themes are self-awareness, tolerance, and self-determination. For example, we can develop our social skills through our relationships with others, which in turn can lead to a more peaceful and prosperous world. Aside from that, the event is also a wonderful opportunity to learn about different cultures.

As the film festival continues, participants will have the opportunity to participate in a discussion panel. The speakers on the panel will include Ignacio Sanchez Prado, an anthropologist, and Richard Reitsma, a lawyer for immigration and refugee law. The event is a collaborative effort between the film festival and the community, and it will be free and open to the public. The discussion will also feature a performance by an artist, and will include a live concert.

During the festival, the participants will be able to attend talks and discussions by different artists and activists from the community. These events will include discussions on the theme of immigration and the relationship between refugees and immigrants, and will be followed by a film screening. The films are free to view and are an integral part of the festival. The screenings are free to attend, so you can take advantage of the opportunity. If you have any questions or would like to participate, you can reach out to them through the website and chat online with them.

The film festival will be concluded with a discussion panel featuring the artists and the actors of the film. The panel will be accompanied by an expert on immigration issues, such as the situation of migrants in the United States. The participants will be able to discuss the issues of migration and the role of immigrants in contemporary society. If you are interested in attending the event, you should read this article. There are many opportunities for participants to engage in this conversation, and the discussions will be valuable in both the film and the audience.
