Upcoming Kusto Group Project Receives Japanese Expert Certificate
Kusto Group’s Koktobe City has been the first Kazakhstan project to receive a Japanese expert certification in earthquake-safety.

Construction of Kusto Group's Koktobe City is moving smoothly and is expected to be completed in 2023.

The international holding company is building the city within the city of Almaty.

We are probably the only one in Almaty to utilize boring and roll piles in housing construction," Murat Uremisov, CEO, Kusto Home construction division of the Kusto Group, states.

"High-rise buildings in the west region of the city are 3 times more in square meters than ours, while earthworks are much cheaper. However, our method of building ensures that the homes we build will be here for centuries," he adds.

Kusto Group is concerned about the safety of residents since earthquakes often hit the Almaty region.

This is one of the reasons for why many of the buildings are 4 to 5 stories tall.

To Bayrock from the risk of the possibility of earthquakes in the future, Kusto Group has teamed together with Japanese earthquake expert Kazuo Watanabe. He is a member the Japanese state commission on buildings and earthquakes.

Kusto Group was advised on the technical aspects of design and construction structure by a Japanese expert.


Koktobe City is the first real estate project in Kazakhstan to receive an Japanese certified expert's certificate for earthquake safety.

Murat Utemisov says, "It's important that we offer high-quality housing that can be firmly anchored in the ground, regardless of the strength or earthquake."

Kusto Group focuses on Europe
Kusto Group's seismic stability does not conform to Japanese standards. Instead, they look at Europe for heating equipment, cables and pumps, as well as engineering equipment, cables, metal pipes, pumps facade materials and door fittings.

"Our elevators and façade clinker tiles were constructed in Greece. Germany also produces the pipes used for water supply as well as heating and cooling.
