Preparing for Your Show
Please arrange to have:
1. A computer with Skype setup (mine is mikefrommaineblog), web cam that supports both audio and video. A headset is not preferred. Please confirm both audio and video are working, well in advance of the interview.
2. The computer physically plugged into a network (wi-fi often doesn't have enough bandwidth).
3. Relatively well lit, quiet room with light on your face (not back-lit as it will darken your face).
4. All non-Skype programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, iTunes, etc.) closed down; it often helps computer memory to do a fresh reboot an hour before the scheduled show.
5. No distractions: turn off desktop phone, mobile phone, computer reminders that may pop-up.
When we start the call, we will go over logistics (make sure you're centered in view, etc.), ask you a few clarifying questions prior to the interview, and make sure you have all of your last minute questions answered.
The Topic
I'd like to talk about your product and any tips associated with the topic.
The goal of my show is to provide quality, ACTIONABLE content, and also give them the option of buying your product.
