Explanation: TF has no dependency on the surface brightness, but apparently (sl 28, l9) the mass - radius relationship does have a surface brightness dependency. That means that our main assumption, that all mass comes from the stellar disk, is wrong -> there must be another mass contributor.
The star formation is dM_s/dt, which you can get from the equation in q1. If you plot the SFR over baryon mass for several time steps (T0/4, T0/2, T0 is fine) you quickly see that at higher redshift (e.g. T0/4) most star formation happens in high baryonic mass galaxies, compared to later times.
