Hi again, this is vlog entry #3. The virtue I'm working on currently is productivity, and the corresponding vice of deficiency is unproductivity, while the vice of excess is overworking. There are many examples of these vices in today's society, both making relatively negative impact. For example, the vice of unproductivity can be seen in everyone during the pandemic; I don't know anyone who generally hasn't put off an assignment in favor of watching youtube or browsing Reddit during quarantine. The vice of overworking is much harder to spot in society, but I have a good example when I was at a birthday party with friends. One of our good friends had decided that he could not show up to the party, as he needed to study for an exam he had in two weeks. Understandably, the exam is very important, but he let it consume all of his daily activities, which wasn't healthy at all. In terms of our universe of obligation, the vice of unproductivity affects our ability to dream big by simply just being too lazy to do the dreaming. Instead of working on something that can advance your passion, you've resorted to youtube and other methods of passive entertainment. The vice of excess, overworking, also affects our ability to dream big by failing to let us see the bigger picture: we're constantly focused purely on the task at hand that we lose sight of what matters most.
