Source #1: Person. “How to Integrate Technology.” Edutopia, George Lucas Educational Foundation, 6 Nov. 2007, www.edutopia.org/technology-integration-guide-implementation.

Information: the article taught a variety of ways in which technology can be effectively integrated into the classroom. Using resources such as Google Sites and Skype, collaboration in the form of blogs becomes a much for feasible possibility. This makes the classroom more cohesive and fun.

Source #2: Walden University. “Top 5 Benefits of Technology in the Classroom.” Walden University, Walden University, 14 Apr. 2021, www.waldenu.edu/programs/education/resource/top-five-benefits-of-technology-in-the-classroom.

Information: according to this article there are five ways in which technology benefits a classroom environment. Technology creates a more engaging environment, incorporates different learning styles, improves collaboration, prepares children for the future, and connects teachers with their students.

Source #1: Heller, Ruth. (2021). Education. Merriam-Webster Dictionary.

Information: This source provided me with an official definition of education. This allowed me to truly comprehend the scope of my topic, subsequently providing a degree of clarity. Merriam-Webster defined education as, "the knowledge and development resulting from the process of being educated."

Source #2: Simpson, John (1989). Technology. The Oxford English Dictionary.

Information: The Oxford dictionary provided me with a more refined definition of what technology truly is. Once again, this allowed me to actually understand what topics were appropriate to discuss in my speech in terms of technology in an educational environment. The Oxford Dictionary defines technology as, "scientific knowledge used in practical ways in industry, for example in designing new machines."

Source #1: Johnson, Doug. The Classroom Teacher's Technology Survival Guide. Jossey-Bass, 2012.

Information: According to this source, while it is important to promote the use of essential collaborative technologies, there are types of technologies referred to as "disruptive technologies" that can inhibit the learning process. This provided me with an alternative perspective that could prove to be helpful for my speech.

Source #2: Magana, Sonny, and Robert J. Marzano. Enhancing the Art & Science of Teaching with Technology. Marzano Research Laboratory, 2014.

Information: This source used data to assert that many k-12 curriculums have already begun to successfully integrate technology. This serves as direct evidence for my claim that technology can be beneficial for the classroom environment.

Source #1: Classroom Combat: Teaching and Television. Maurine Doerksen. LC 85-25125. 336p. 1983. (ISBN 0-87778-186-9)

Information: Despite being older than many of my previous sources, the information provided in this periodical was quite helpful. According to the periodical, simple technology such as television can be effective for reinforcing concepts taught in a learning environment as long as potential distractions are not facilitated.

Source #2: Instructional Models for Course Design and Development. Reginald F. Melton. LC 81-5538. 198p. 1982. (ISBN 0-87778-178-8).

Information: The author of this periodical states that the appropriate use of physical models (whether they're for anatomy or physics) can enhance a student's understanding of a concept in a way that standard textbooks and illustrations cannot. This reaffirms one of my claims that states that the use of models is a helpful manner by which technology benefits the learning environment.
