I was just writing to you to notify you and keep you updated with the developments of the recent team meeting that took place.
Within the meeting, I discussed with my other colleagues Callum, Shatil, Marcus and Liam potential ways to get more young people involved with EY. We discussed lots of potential benefits and drawbacks and we made some real development in the future of the idea.
Our primary idea was online workshops, promoted via social media, which would be tailored specifically to different age groups. We discussed the positives of this idea, the main one being inclusivity and giving everybody an opportunity no matter where you’re from. Furthermore, this would increase the average level of quality that we would be seeing at these events, as an increased number of participants means there will be a lot more potential future employees.
We also discussed potential drawbacks to these events, with Shatil portraying a very valid example that we would be prone to cyber attacks or online trolls. Due to this, we concluded that there should be regulation involved and a lot of technological preparation beforehand.
We further developed our idea when we was given additional information, as it allowed us to broaden our minds and think about how we would technologically adapt and in which instances we would do this in.
We concluded the meeting with a brief overview of the discussed idea, and on reflection every member of the team contributed with their own vital piece of information.
