Unforgivable Curse

Unforgivable curse terdiri dari 3 mantra, yaitu Cruciatus Curse, Imperius Curse, dan Killing Curse. Mantra-mantra ini biasa digunakan oleh penjahat dalam buku, seperti Voldemort dan para Pelahap Maut dan dalam beberapa kasus oleh Kementerian Sihir, penggunaannya mengilhami kengerian dan ketakutan besar.
Dalam prakteknya, pemantra bisa langsung dikurung di Azkaban setelah mempraktekkan mantra-mantra Unforgivable Curse. Untuk melakukan Kutukan Tak Termaafkan, pemantera harus "berarti". Artinya adalah jika seseorang itu ingin melakukan mantra tersebut, orang itu harus benar-benar ingin membuat korbannya menderita. Karena mantra-mantranya sangat kuat, penggunaannya membutuhkan keinginan yang kuat untuk menyebabkan efek, kemauan yang terarah, dan keahlian tinggi. Tidak semua perapal dari mantra kutukan tak termaafkan akan berakhir di Azkaban. Ada pengecualian untuk orang Kementerian. Misalnya, jika mantra tersebut digunakan untuk menghukum mati narapidana yang memang layak mendapat hukuman mati.
