În orice proces, aproape 80 - 85% din activități sunt activități fără valoare adăugată. Scopul abordării LEAN este de a le identifica în proces. Și utilizați instrumente specifice pentru a le elimina sau a le reduce. Astfel, Lean îmbunătățește eficiența procesului.
