In this lecture, we're going to discuss scholarships.
I'm going to be completely honest with you... the odds of winning scholarships are low... if you do what everyone else does. Most students apply for the easiest ones. Most students use common apps to apply for many at once.
Here's our suggestion and it works. Commit to writing and essay scholarships even if you are not qualified. You wouldn't believe how few students do these... a very small percentage.
It doesn't matter if it is for a female soccer player who has been to every country on earth... if you don't qualify, still apply because if you are the only person that applies, the money is yours.
Also.. seek out local businesses. Chances are that they offer some type of scholarship but they don't advertise. A few examples would be hospitals, local restaurants, community groups, etc.

Here's something you've probably never thought about. While it's true tons of students get scholarship money, it's also true many schools have tons of money left over from scholarships that very few if any apply for. Most schools have scholarships that are unadvertised. Many students think that they have to look to outside sources for money. All you need to do is ask.
Also, here is a very important tip.

There are many schools that offer scholarships randomly upon acceptance so you should never apply to just one school. Remember when we discussed tuition? If you get scholarship money from a school, you could easily use that as bargaining power.
We recommend you apply to at least 7 schools. We also recommend you formulate a general scholarship template and find at least one scholarship every single day. Some scholarships take a while to get back to you but the wait is worth it.
Also before we conclude this lecture, Foreign Language scholarships are a steal. If the page is in another language, simply translate and if you must write a scholarship letter in another language, there are countless translation services online.
