Ren is slightly taller than average, with rugged features and a moderately slender frame. His face is most typically locked in a neutral expression. His skin is pale white, with blank eyes a slightly brighter shade, and similarly coloured shoulder-length hair. On his outer left forearm is a kind of birthmark given to him after his interaction with the archfey. The birthmark is of a Sylvan rune, which translates as "rebirth," a sign of his pact with Czia.
As a changeling, Ren has the ability to change form. Hence, what is written here is a description of his default appearance, which can be altered to whichever he pleases. The birthmark, too, can disappear if he so wishes.

*While Ren is both male and female, he typically appears as a male.

Rywnh ad-Yttyrh'ae, "Ren"

Rywnh ad-Yttyrh'ae was born of the Yttyrh faith, priests who were renowned for their highly potent magical abilities. However, Ren was born without any such potency, and was discriminated against for his lack of skill. At the age of fifteen, Ren was exiled from his homeland.
Cast down to our world, Ren wandered until he came across an abandoned temple, which he entered. He then set himself down and locked himself into a deep meditation.
Within the meditation, Ren entered a strange dream-world, ruled over by the dream-queen Shaddath. Shaddath took him into her palace as a courtier where he served the queen for many years as an advisor. With his help, Shaddath was able to fend off numerous invading armies, and Ren soon earned a reputation.
One day, after Shaddath had grown bored of the countless plays her jesters would put on, she requested that Ren would tell her a story. Ren obliged, and began to recite the autobiography of his time as a member of the Yttyrh'ae. Shaddath's eyes widened in amazement as he told of the great and complex rituals they would perform under the moon, of the war heroes and gods alike they worshipped in equal measure.
When his story was over, Shaddath pulled him aside. "There is a great spring nearby, I will take you there. We have important matters that must be discussed. This spring holds the power of the fairies, they are friends of mine and they will help us in what is to come. Can I trust you?"
Later, they arrived at the spring, which was aglow in the green light of the fairies. Shaddath drew water from the spring and offered it to Ren. Ren accepted and drank the water. Immediately, he felt light-headed, and a wave of intense power surged through his body.
"I am the great archfey Czia, nemesis of the Yttyrh'ae. They trapped me into this dream long ago so no mortal may find me. However, their blood runs through you, and you were able to break their spell. You are the hope to liberate my fairies so we may rule the world again!"
"Henceforth, I will use my abilities to restore some magic into your veins. You will no longer be impotent. So tell me, Ren, having witnessed their atrocities firsthand - will you help me vanquish the Yttyrh'ae?"
Ren was astounded. Czia, the great evil of Yttyrh lore, had appeared before him, gifting him the ability needed to get revenge against his former faith. Now he had come to see the stories in a new light. It is not Czia who was evil; rather, it was the arrogance of the Yttyrh'ae which had caused them to use her as a scapegoat for their own immorality. Now it rested in his hands to become their saviour.
Thus, Ren accepted.
"Of course, as you must surely know by now, this realm is but an illusion. I will transport you back to your world - your new world - so you may begin your quest. I alone cannot bring you back to the Yttyrh'ae. You must grow stronger yourself, and once you are strong enough, you will be able to return yourself with vengeance in hand."
"Now, close your eyes. We will meet again. Until then, farewell."
Ren closed his eyes and, when he awoke, he was back in the temple from years ago. The temple he had meditated in. How long had he been asleep? Four, maybe five years? It had felt like a lifetime. Yet, he had indeed met the archfey Czia, and the magic coursing through his veins was now palpable.
He knew what must be done. The archfey's request, to defeat the Yttyrh'ae. To liberate the fey through whichever means would be necessary. Ren stood up, and left the temple.
