Rules for cidr block
1.IP address should be contiguous
2.Block size should be power of 2
3.First IP address of the block must be evenly divisible by size of the block.
Subnetting in CIDR
Calculate hid
Do the changes accordingly in hid part by adding ones.
Count the number and add to the size of subnets.
Private IP addresses
Class A- 10.0.0.0-10.255.255.255
Class B-172.16.00-172.31.255.255
Class C-192.168.0.0-192.168.255.255
Supernetting/Aggregation
1.Network should be contiguous.
2.block size must be size of 2^n.
3.First nid should be divisble by size of subnet.
By supernetting length of sm decreases
By subnetting length of sm increases
supernetting-borrows bits from nid
subnetting-borrows bits from hid.
Finding supernet mask
1.Replace fixed part with 1
2.Replace variable part with 0
