PROLOGUE- Omen

some say the world will end in fire
some say in ice
from what i've tasted of desire i hold with those who favor fire
but if it had to perish twice, i think i know enough of hate to say that, for destruction, ice is also great
and would suffice

Flintfall- 8 moons before the incident
A pretty tortoiseshell kit slithered in the shadows of ShadowClan's camp. Her bright green eyes reflected the trees in greenleaf. Though she was born in leaf-bare, her Clan considered her bright eyes as a good omen. Oh, how wrong they would turn out to be.
The small kit was adventurous, clever, and ambitious. All good for a leader. All good for a ShadowClan warrior. But that was not what StarClan had planned out for Flintkit. Her personality would be turned upside down to be cold, hardened, and guarded. Hard, not to be broken down. For, she was ice that would not melt in the wrong person's hands. But how could something so innocent become so cold in a short amount of time? Why, that question was quite daunting to Flintfall as well.
A second shadow, taller, bigger, and more muscular than Flintkit crept after her. The small kit's wide green eyes glinted in confusion and excitement. Then she noticed a moving shadow. "Hi, Mirroredface." The large gray tom crept out of the shadows, purring.
"How did you know it was me?" he asked.
"You smell like fresh leaves and dew. It's nice," she mewed, bouncing on her paws. The tom felt his fur heat up. He shook his head, making her confused.
"So- you don't smell like that?" she asked, tipping her head to one side. Mirroredface shrugged.
"I bet I do. I just.... Can I tell you a secret?" Flintkit nodded. So innocent, so open. It almost made Mirrorface feel guilty for what he was about to do- to take her heart. "I love you."
The kit blinked. Her heart and her mind raced as fast as the rabbits on the moor. She was a kit- only 4 moons old. He was a warrior- young, but still a warrior. Three times her lifetime. But then she thought deeper. If he loves me enough to put aside our ages, then I should appreciate that. The kit purred, brushing against his chest.
"That's nice. What do lover cats do?" she tipped her head to one side, eyes wide.
"Well..." his lips turned up in a smirk.
That night, her innocence was taken. By a tom 3 times her age. When she was a kit, she could only imagine the pain that would have to take place to be broken.... But it happened to her. Soon, she would be broken.
