Following many hours of consultation and preparation by officers from Raleigh police and animal control, a glue trap was ultimately deployed to capture a venomous zebra cobra on a north Raleigh porch on Wednesday, a 48-hour incident that generated nationwide interest.
It was taken to a safer location to be fully cleaned after it was guided into the bucket and guided out.
An earlier image captured by WRAL show the snake scrabbling to the front porch of a house on Sandringham Drive, crawling through the siding. When it lifted its head to look around, the top of its hood was visible.
Camera crews were moved back after the officers confirmed it was the snake before attempting to catch it.
An early morning 911 call from that same home prompted the search.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. Following hours of consultation and preparation by police and animal control officers, a glue trap captured a venomous zebra cobra on a north Raleigh porch on Wednesday, capping an incident that drew widespread attention.
To completely remove the glue from its body, the cobra was seated in a red bucket and transported to a safe location.

Camera crews had to be redirected after Animal Control officers confirmed it was a snake before moving in to try to capture it.
The search was sparked by a 911 call from the same home early Tuesday.

Normally, this cobra species does not bite. It is more likely that they will spray their venom . They are very accurate and go straight for the eyes.
Despite the risks associated with this snake, Locke does not recommend it as a pet.
The majority of bites occur during sleep. Bite victims could be plagued with health problems for years, studies show.
It has been reported that police searched a home on 6917 Chamonix Place, near the location where the cobra was last spotted.
There was an animal issue at that home in March. The zebra cobra was spotted on a porch a half mile away on Monday and Tuesday.
According to county records, Keith and Rebecca Gifford live at that address. On a Facebook page associated with Keith Gifford's name, he posts photos of snakes owned by his son, Christopher.
TikTok user Christopher Gifford has more than 460000 followers. In one of his posts, he claims to have a 7-foot-long zebra cobra.
