Online video storage is unreliable, sites may close or even break. Here are some suggestions to back up your social media accounts to your laptop.

My story isn't very big. I was born, went to school, worked, fought until I finally got something done online.. However, it also has several traumatic moments when I thought everything was gone forever. One of those was the time my laptop computer went completely in silence. After a bit of fiddling, changing my old desktop into the new one and more tinkering, I was eventually capable of restoring the entire work on that drive. It took 3 days of sweating, figuratively crying... I've learned one thing. To automatically or manually backup my day's work using Dropbox and personal FTP servers, so that nothing will ever be deleted.

Of course it's not the ideal solution.. The bigger your data store becomes and the bigger it gets, the more you'll must pay to maintain everything in it, to keep it up and running. It's simple and appears safe. It's also easy to access and can be downloaded from any location with internet access. What about those times when access to the internet isn't feasible? I'm happy to always have my laptop on me for those times. It's my final reliable backup source. There are two drives I own, and use to create RAID stacks. They copy each other and have a backup in the event that one of my HDDs is damaged. Because I rarely copy my laptop's contents my laptop, I've designed it so that two drives aren't disconnected at once.

A few months ago, my other major day of sorrow was. I make sure that I don't perish in the process of completing any work. As I mentioned I have duplicates of it many times. Also, it is available online at any time internet connectivity is available. This site is one I frequently visit. It allows me to download videos from Youtube and Instagram, as well as Facebook which are a few of the places that I store the majority of my live streams. I am a fan of politics and underground movements, which is why I record a lot of live events, store videos for the future and publish them on my Youtube channel, and when the live stream is over, I back the video to my laptop. This is the method I use. It also allows me to cross post videos on multiple platforms. This means that I'm able to not only share Youtube video via Facebook but also upload the same video to Facebook. This is a different video. In the past 8 years, I've had 3TB worth of live streams. Periscope lives never cease to exist.. I find this site very useful.

It works like a charm. After opening the video I want I copy the URL via the sharing link. Then , I visit the video downloader site and paste video link where they want it, click the big button, and within moments I am presented with options to download the video. I save it to my desktop or laptop, to copy it across other platforms, and to save it for my loved ones. Periscope isn't accessible on all sites.

In case you were not aware, the windows copy command will allow you to place such fragments together and produce a normal-length video file. The format used for video fragments is called MpegTS, which is also known as transport stream. Each fragment contains all data needed for video decoding. This allows every streamer to stream seamlessly from the middle. It helps save browser data as well. Instead of downloading a file lasting 1 hour, it downloads 360 x 10 second files. If you watch only 25 seconds, your player downloads only 3-4 pieces. The current 25-second stretch gets 3-4 fragments. This lets you save a lot of data by downloading only 25 seconds of video stream.
