Sariagri - Badan Restorasi Gambut dan Mangrove (BRGM) menargetkan melakukan restorasi gambut di lahan seluas 360.000 hektare pada 2022, dengan salah satu strategi untuk mencapainya melalui pembentukan kesatuan hidrologis gambut (KHG) model, kata Deputi Konstruksi, Operasi dan Pemeliharaan BRGM, Tris Raditian.
Dalam acara Refleksi Akhir Tahun BRGM di Jakarta, Tris Raditian mengatakan berdasarkan Peraturan Presiden (Perpres) Nomor 120 Tahun 2020 tentang BRGM telah ditetapkan target 2022 adalah 30 persen dari 1,2 juta hektare yang menjadi total target BRGM sampai 2024.
kementerian kehutanan "Dari peta indikatif restorasi gambut ini, target kita untuk tahun kedua dalam Perpres itu adalah 360.000 hektare," jelas Tris, seperti dikutip dari Antara.
Dari jumlah tersebut telah dipetakan akan dilakukan restorasi gambut pada 2022, di Riau di atas lahan seluas 158.636 hektare, Jambi 37.225 hektare, Sumatera Selatan 46.642 hektare, Kalimantan Barat 36.498 hektare, Kalimantan Tengah 68.513 hektare, Kalimantan Selatan 922 hektare, dan Papua 11.564 hektare.

Dia memaparkan bahwa salah satu strategi BRGM untuk mencapai kinerja yang ditargetkan pada 2022 adalah pembentukan KHG model untuk pengelolaan ekosistem gambut sistematis dan terpadu.
"Karena, kalau dulu kita bersifat quick respons, parsial-parsial, tapi sekarang kita lebih kepada bagaimana mencapai untuk KHG model yang sistematis dan terstruktur," ujar Tris.
KHG model dikembangkan berdasarkan pengalaman empirik dari periode BRG (2016-2021) dan teori yang relevan. Yang ingin dicapai, adalah mendapatkan KHG yang optimum di mana ekosistemnya seimbang dan stabil.
Pembentukan KHG model dilakukan melalui tahapan perencanaan, kelembagaan, penentuan teknis intervensi restorasi, pemberdayaan dan insentif serta monitoring dan evaluasi.
